It’s that time of year again. As we start getting our G&Ts ready for the bells, we’ve begun looking back at 2016. This year, we went from strength to strength – and from gin to gin. But what were the most momentous events of the year?

It goes without saying that the first highlight of 2016 had to be the opening of our second distillery at The Biscuit Factory in May. Bringing distillation back to the historic gin port of Leith, the new distillery has quadrupled our production, making enough spirit for over 2.5 million G&Ts per year!

Amidst the jamboree of the Edinburgh Fringe in August, the Edinburgh Gin Garden returned to serve al fresco fizzes and cocktails at St. Andrew’s Square. This year, it was joined by a pop-up bar outside of our West End Distillery & Visitor Centre, which was awarded 4-stars by Visit Scotland this year.

This year also saw two additions to the Edinburgh Gin portfolio: the return of a maritime marvel and a new, opulent liqueur.

After a successful maiden voyage as a limited edition, Seaside Edinburgh Gin permanently joined our range of London Dry gins, harnessing the essence of the Scottish seaside.

At the end of the year, our limited edition Plum & Vanilla Liqueur was also released, offering a must-have cocktail ingredient. With juicy Scottish plums and exotic Madagascan vanilla, our Plum & Vanilla gin liqueur will bring an artful dash of elegance to your cocktails.

With a New Year on the horizon, all that’s left is to raise a glass to 2017 – with all that we’ve got planned for you, it’s going to be a good one…
